Why is the number of open-ended responses lower than the number of respondents?

Dialogue defines a Respondent as a participant who responded to at least one question, either metric or open-ended. If you have fewer open-ended answers than Respondents, this means that one or more of your Respondents chose not to leave an open-ended answer.
