Act

Modified on Tue, 1 Apr at 1:36 PM

The Act page is a central hub for creating and managing action plans to engage teams and drive measurable results. Effective action plans are critical for turning insights from your listening events into action that positively impacts your organization and employees (and, in turn, your customers).

Depending on your company’s subscriptions, you will see one of two experiences: 1) the Activate/Grow experience (best practice), which is detailed below, or 2) the Act experience (without Activate or Grow), which is detailed in notes below. For an overview of Activate and Grow, see the Activate Overview and Grow Overview articles.

If enabled, you will also see multiple places to access AI Coach, our chat-based interface that provides personalized coaching powered by behavioral science. AI Coach helps you develop the habits that drive success by offering actionable, science-backed guidance. For more information and step-by-step instructions, see the Use AI Coach article.

Access the Act Page

You access the Act page directly from the navigation bar.

  1. Log in to the People Insights Platform.

  2. In the navigation bar, click Act.

Act Page Overview

The Act page is divided into three main sections:

  • Action Feed

The action feed displays your recent action plan commitments and reminders, as well as your recent nudges (if enabled). You can review and interact with your nudges to help train the AI Engine to provide the most relevant nudges.

  • Active Action Plans

Your active action plans display in this area, giving you quick access to monitor and drive progress. You can review the top-level details for each, or click to open the action plan and view the full details.

  • Activity Area (top right)

The activity area enables you to:

  • Access AI Coach (if enabled)

  • Access advanced tools, which currently includes Act Metrics for action planning and nudge engagement and Boost Nudges (admins only) for temporarily sending targeted nudges in response to emerging organizational needs or upcoming events.

  • Manage your nudge preferences (if enabled).

  • Create action plans. You can also create action plans from select reports or the Advanced Reporting dashboard.

Action Feed

The Action Feed section displays automated reminders and Intelligent Nudges to help you keep your active action plans on track and provide one-click access to make changes if needed (e.g., other action steps may be more appropriate or follow-up dates should change).

Intelligent Nudges proactively deliver behavioral-based recommendations to managers and employees, giving them the skills and knowledge they need to successfully complete action plans and develop better habits over time. All nudges are delivered within the flow of work (e.g., in the Action Feed, or via Microsoft Teams, Slack, email, etc.), making them quick and easy to implement.

Note: Intelligent Nudges are available only with the Activate/Grow experience. Without Activate or Grow, only the automated action plan reminders display in the Action Feed. For more information, see the Activate Overview and Grow Overview articles.

If AI Coach is enabled, the Action Feed includes buttons for starting a chat at the top of the feed and within nudges.

Note: AI Coach is available only with the Activate/Grow experience.

Active Action Plans

The Active Action Plans section helps you track action plan progress by displaying cards for your active action plans that show how many commitments have been completed and provide quick access to make updates. If you have more than one user role for which you create action plans (e.g., manager and HRBP), you can use the Role dropdown to filter the action plan display by role. Click View Details for any action plan to make edits, update notes, or mark commitments as done.

The cards also display the number of Intelligent Nudges received for each action plan. If nudges have been received for an action plan, they also display when you click View Details.

Note: Without Activate or Grow, no nudges are sent for action plans.

When an action plan is complete, you can archive it. Clicking View All (top right) displays all action plans, including archived ones.

For more information and step-by-step instructions, see the Edit & Manage Action Plans and Complete an Action Plan articles.

Activity Area

The Activity Area is where you can start an AI Coach session (if enabled), access advanced tools (if you have appropriate permissions), specify nudge preferences (if applicable), and start creating an action plan.

AI Coach

Clicking AI Coach in the Activity Area launches a chat session with AI Coach. You can type questions or use available prompts for coaching about applying feedback, preparing for a challenging conversation, or brainstorming action planning ideas.

For more information and step-by-step instructions, see the Use AI Coach article.

Advanced Tools (Admins and HRBPs)

Depending on permissions, Admins and HRBPs can access advanced tools options. Currently, available options may include Act Metrics to view AI Coach, action planning, and nudge engagement, and Boost Nudges to temporarily send targeted nudges in response to emerging organizational needs or upcoming events.

Act Metrics

Administrators can assess how employees are engaging with and receiving support from AI Coach. The Act Metrics Dashboard displays aggregate data about how many employees engaged with AI Coach over the last 90 days and how many conversations were initiated.

Administrators can also track nudge engagement data on the Act Metrics dashboard. Data includes activity personas, nudge themes selected as personal focus areas, and nudges viewed over time.

Administrators and HRBPs can track action plan engagement data on the Act Metrics dashboard. Data includes the top survey items used in action plans and a participation breakdown by user status (e.g., manager or overall). There’s also a search feature to search for action plans for specific employees and provide appropriate feedback and support for those who need help getting started or following up with the process. A download feature enables users to download details for all action plans created for a specific listening event.

Note: Action plan metrics are available for Administrators and HRBPs. AI Coach and Nudge engagement data is available for Administrators only.

Boost Nudges (Admins Only)

Administrators can create nudge boosts to provide focused support for specific themes. Choose from 14 themes and provide focused support to teams for 6 weeks. Nudge boosts do not affect the frequency of nudge delivery; however, every other nudge received during the period relates to the boost theme.

For more information and step-by-step instructions, see the Work with Intelligent Nudges article.

Nudge Preferences

Intelligent Nudges are designed to promote behavior change not only at the organizational level but at the personal level too. All users can set their nudge preferences by providing optional information about their role and selecting up to three personal focus areas. The Perceptyx AI Engine uses this information to personalize the nudges the user receives.

For more information and step-by-step instructions, see the Set Nudge Preferences (Activate) article.

Create Action Plan

Clicking Create Action Plan displays a list of events for which you have access to create action plans. If you have more than one user role for which you can create action plans, you can select the role you want to use by displaying the Role dropdown and selecting a role.

Clicking View Report & Take Action next to an event displays the event report results, from which you can choose an item to focus on and create an action plan.

For more information and step-by-step instructions, see the Create an Action Plan article.

AI-Assisted Action Planning

In the days following reporting access for a listening event, managers have access to AI-assisted action planning. A prompt in the Action Feed or in the flow of work (email, Teams, Slack, etc.) helps them start the process of creating an AI-assisted action plan.

Note: AI-assisted action planning is available only with the Activate or Grow experience. For more information, see the Activate Overview or Grow Overview article.

Upon clicking Start Action Plan, the Perceptyx AI Engine recommends the survey items that are most likely to drive impact at that point in time, based on the most recent listening data available for the manager and their team.

From here, the manager can choose to proceed with one of the recommended items and can optionally add up to two commitments, write notes, and choose up to three follow up dates for their commitments.

Note: The manager can alternatively choose other items for action planning. Clicking Select Different Items displays the Advanced Reporting site, where the manager can select a different item and start the action planning process.

Each AI-assisted action plan automatically generates nudges for the manager alone (360 events) and/or their team (Point-In-Time events) to help them move forward to successfully complete the plan.

Note: Without Activate or Grow, managers manually choose an item to work with and are prompted to add commitments (suggestions available), notes, and follow-up dates. No nudges are sent.

If AI Coach is enabled, the action plan workflow includes an option to initiate a chat with AI Coach to help you create the most effective action plan. For more information and step-by-step instructions, see the Use AI Coach article.

For more information and step-by-step instructions for creating AI-assisted action plans or standard action plans, see the Create an Action Plan article.
